Force Characteristic curves on the left and right cycle, effort-at-pressure values, free-play measurement, internal leak rate, post-test leak check - every line PASS, or the part doesn't leave the line.

When a customer disputes a return or a warranty claim turns up, the report is the receipt. Match the DNA® ID etched on the rack to the test report from the box - that's the unit, that's how it left the line, that's the proof.

The Column-Assist Slice

One Mechanical Rack.

Column-Assist EPS puts the assist motor and torque sensor behind the steering wheel, on the column itself. Everything downstream of that motor - including the rack and pinion - is purely mechanical. No electronics. No firmware. No torque sensor in the rack body.

It's the largest single EPS architecture on the road today, especially across compact and import nameplates - Hyundai/Kia, Mazda, Nissan, Fiat, Toyota, Volvo - because it's the most cost-effective way to deliver EPS to a passenger car.

P&E's Non-Programmable line covers 38 million of those vehicles with just 50 SKUs - more than half of the column-assist parc, served from a tightly-engineered catalog.

Anatomy of a Column-Assist System

The motor, torque sensor, position sensor, and column coupler can almost always be serviced individually. P&E supports that repair-first approach across the EPS line. When the rack itself is the failure - curb impact, internal wear, leaking boot, bent shaft - that's when our Non-Programmable rack goes in the box.
